The cruises compared here
These are the two best-rated boats in Menorca on Civitatis, and each has more than 1,350 reviews. They do not compete on score but on coast: one leaves from Fornells bay in the north, the other from Cala Galdana in the south.
The Fornells listing says its beaches are very different from the ones in the south. Here are the two routes, the prices and what each includes, as the listings tell it.
1What each boat covers
The Fornells boat takes about three and a half hours along the north coast, with stops at Cavalleria beach and Cala Pregonda. On the way back it visits some sea caves, but only if the sea allows it. On board there is a slide, snorkelling gear, a paddleboard and a giant mattress.
The Cala Galdana boat leaves from that cove and follows the south coast. The listing names Macarella, Macarelleta, Turqueta, Son Saura, Mitjana, Trebalúger and Escorxada, with two swim stops of about 30 minutes each. It warns that the stops and access to the sea caves depend on the sea, the wind, jellyfish and the number of boats.
2Price and what is included
Fornells costs from €42 and Cala Galdana from €76, a difference of €34. The listings do not say why. The south trip includes a drink and an aperitif; the north trip includes the snorkelling gear, the paddleboard and the giant mattress.
Both can be cancelled for free, up to 24 hours before at Fornells and up to 18 hours before at Cala Galdana. Both come with an English-speaking guide.
3Which one to pick for your plan
Pick Cala Galdana if you want the southern coves you have already heard of and do not mind paying more. Pick Fornells if you are staying in the north, want a different coast, or the €34 difference matters in your budget.
If neither suits you, the Cala'n Bosch trip costs €35 for the south coves, with a 9.1 from 615 reviews. Always check the booking page for the times and length on your date.
