The cruises compared here
All three trips are in Dubrovnik's waters, but they are not the same kind of outing. One is a boat plus a guided walk, one is a short evening sail, and one is a boat you hire.
The three sit at very different prices, and only one of them has a guide in the listing. The differences below are all taken from the Civitatis listings.
1What each one gives you
The Game of Thrones tour and cruise lasts about 2 hours: a 45-minute cruise on the Karaka from Gruž Port, then a walking tour of 1 hour 15 minutes through the Old Town. It includes a "dragon blood" cocktail and an English-speaking guide. It scores 8.5 from 38 reviews.
The night galleon is a 45-minute evening cruise on a replica of a 16th-century karaka. The listing includes only the cruise and says the walls are lit. It scores 7.8 from 39 reviews and starts from €34.
The private boat is a hire for a group, with a 2-hour sunset option and a 4-hour half-day to the Elaphiti Islands, snorkel kit included. It scores 9.1 from 38 reviews and starts from €272.85.
2Where they leave from
The Game of Thrones cruise starts at Gruž Port, in front of the Glorijet restaurant, and ends in the Old Town. The night galleon starts at Mali Muo pier in the Old Port and ends at Gruž harbour. They are almost mirror images, so do not mix up the two vouchers.
The private boat starts at Lapadska obala 4, a third place. Whichever you book, read the meeting point on the voucher and arrive 15 minutes early.
3Who should pick which
For a fan of the series, the Game of Thrones tour is the better buy, because the guide and the walk are the reason to go. If you have not watched it, the same money is better spent on the galleon or on an island trip.
The galleon suits an evening with no plan, since it is short and cheap. The private boat only makes sense when the cost is shared between several people. Both the tour and the galleon can be cancelled for free, 48 hours ahead.
