Both include a stop at the Palea Kameni thermal waters and a glass of wine, and neither includes entrance to the Nea Kameni volcano (€5 per person).
1What the schooner does
It is a three-mast sailing boat. The guide meets you at Athinios Port, and pickup and drop-off at your hotel or a meeting point is included, by bus or minibus. The provider confirms the time the day before, and the start moves with the sunset.
On the water you get dinner at a restaurant on Thirasia, the stop at Palea Kameni's thermal waters and a glass of wine. The listing names no guide language and no commentary, and it does not say whether the deck is open or covered.
2What the cheaper tour does
The sunset boat tour meets at the Santorini Excursions office at Fira Old Port, which sits below the town: the walk down or the cable car is on you. It includes time on the Nea Kameni volcano, a dip in the Palea Kameni thermal waters and a glass of wine for over 18s, with an English-speaking tour assistant.
There is no dinner and no pickup in the listing.
3Is the extra €30 worth it
The €30 between the two buys dinner, pickup and transport. The rest is the same on paper: both last 4.5 hours, both can be cancelled free up to 24 hours before, and neither is wheelchair accessible.
If you are staying in or near Fira and already have dinner plans, the cheaper tour does the job. If you are staying elsewhere on the island and want the evening sorted, the schooner is the simpler choice.
