Check dates and price

Nile cruises are one-way trips between Aswan and Luxor, so where you board is also where you start your Upper Egypt route. The two multi-day cruises we compare each have one fixed direction.

The pickup rules differ in each city, and a hotel on the wrong bank or island changes where you meet the group.

1Boarding in Aswan

The 3-night cruise starts in Aswan. Pickup is included from Aswan airport, the train station or your hotel in the city, and a vehicle takes you to the ship. Check-in is at 12 noon.

If your hotel is on Western Aswan Island or Suhil Island, you meet at the West Bank Ferry Terminal. If it is on Elephantine Island, you meet at the KFC on the Nile corniche or at the Telecom Egypt office on El Sadat Road. The same applies if your hotel is outside the city centre: go to one of the listed points.

2Boarding in Luxor

The 4-night cruise starts in Luxor. Pickup is included from Luxor airport, the train station or hotels on the east bank of the Nile, usually at about 12 noon. The local team contacts you 24 hours before to confirm the time.

If your hotel is on the west bank, they arrange a meeting point on the east bank. Check-in on the ship is from 12 noon and check-out is around 8 am.

3The Cairo dinner cruise

The Cairo dinner cruise has no boarding point of its own for you to find. It picks you up at your hotel, takes you by bus to a dock on the Nile and brings you back. Pickup is at about 6:30 pm for the 8 pm show or 8:30 pm for the 10 pm show, and the exact time is confirmed the day before.

4Choosing where to start

If you land or sleep in Aswan, take the 3-night cruise to Luxor, which ends with a transfer to the Luxor airport, the train station or any place in the city. If you start in Luxor, take the 4-night cruise, which ends with a transfer to Aswan airport.

Both cruises assume a morning check-out on the last day, so do not book a flight out for the same morning without checking the itinerary.
